Meet the 5 consequences of improper food traceability and to stop them.

Meet the 5 consequences of improper food traceability and to how stop them.

by foxtroton 27 April 2021in Zebra

When it comes to food and beverage processing, traceability is the first line of defense against damaging spoilage and recalls. As a result, over half of businesses cite traceability transparency as key to settling customer concerns. Careful research compiled in Zebra’s latest Food Safety Supply Chain Vision Study shows that as little as 20% of customers actually trust companies to ensure food safety, which is why breakdowns in food safety produce dire consequences such as:

  1. Severe financial loss incurred from recalls, spoilage, and heavy fines and fees. Recurrent issues can also bar companies from selling products within a specified timeframe, further affecting the bottom line.
  2. Damaged brand identity as recalls must be publicly declared. As much as 60% of customers say they would never visit a restaurant after contracting an illness, which means companies must deal with the consequences of unsafe practices even after errors are corrected.
  3. Legal action from affected customers can halt productivity until all errors are rectified.
  4. Regulatory responses can prompt long-term legal changes, creating more steps and obstacles for your inventory to move quickly and efficiently to the customer.
  5. Broken business relationships as partners may wish to disassociate from impacted brands in order to safeguard their own brand identity, ultimately leading to disruptive gaps in the supply chain.

To secure efficient traceability, supply chains have sought to strengthen connectivity and visibility. Although large-scale solutions such as RFID tracking can expand visibility within an entire facility, advanced temperature monitoring can provide closer visibility into inventory status in and out of the cold chain.

Why Start with Temperature Monitoring?

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has estimated that around 1 in 6 Americans contract a foodborne illness each year. Improper temperature storage plays a vital role in this since it enables rapid bacteria and toxin growth. From the production floor to the grocery aisle, sensitive inventory will most likely encounter a great variety of temperatures. Effective temperature sensing technologies like Zebra’s newest Electric Temperature Sensors can help establish:

  • Real-time visibility of in-transit inventory – Track environment temperatures as inventory moves throughout the warehouse and in the field via Bluetooth-enabled sensors.
  • On the go alerts – Systematic alerts highlight when you need to take action based on your cold chain parameters.
  • Sharable status and updates anywhere in the globe – Access and share updates via your preferred device. That means you can easily integrate a traceability system using your current enterprise devices with no backend modifications.
  • Automated temperature reporting for reduced errors – ISG Technologies continues to empower businesses with automated solutions that eliminate manual data entry for less errors that could lead to wasteful labor and spoilage.

Temperature-sensing is only the beginning of effective traceability in food safety. Contact ISG Technologies at 800-566-3310 or info@isgtechnologies.com to learn how you can start upgrading your cold chain for complete operational visibility that enhances your competitive edge.

How the MC9300 sets your operations ahead of competition

by foxtroton 23 March 2021in Audios, Mobile

In the world of instant-gratification, product quality is no longer the only deciding factor customers choose when completing a purchase. Today’s high-speed economy has generated a larger demand for intelligent warehouse automation to meet new standards in efficient order fulfillment such as:

  • Faster delivery – Over 40% of online shoppers choose same-day shipping.
  • In-store pickup – Around half of U.S. shoppers have shipped products to pick up at a brick-and-mortar location.
  • Easy returns – As much as a third of online purchases are returned, which is why customers actively seek seamless -and free- returns.
  • Real-time order tracking – In addition to fast shipping, customers also expect accurate ETA’s and order tracking from e-tailers.
  • Trusted order accuracy – As always, order accuracy is still expected from every shipment, yet with more orders being placed, paper-based systems struggle with keeping up with expectations.

To remain competitive, businesses must go beyond standards. Consequently, ISG Technologies facilitates competitive modernization with Zebra’s MC9300 mobile computer. See how in our video:

5 Reasons you should streamline your fleet technology with the TC57

by foxtroton 19 February 2021in Zebra

When it comes to field service, simplicity goes a long way. As field teams travel farther and faster, ISG technologies continues to seek out ways to streamline efficiency without complicating workflows. With over 50% of field service companies still depending on manual data processing, digitized data processing seems to be an obvious pathway to optimization; however, by adding additional devices into the fleet, companies risk increasing operational costs. Instead of giving your team yet another mobile device, we recommend streamlining crucial tasks through one versatile device like Zebra’s TC57 touch computer.

Take a closer look into the TC57:

Reducing costs is just the beginning…

As part of our Telecom Cost Optimization Plan, consolidating your fleet devices onto a touch computer can help lower telecom costs by 35% without altering your service, yet the TC57 also enables:

  1. Streamlined data capture and sharing – Integrate intelligent data capture into your mobile computer to automate data collection for fewer errors and real-time data sharing.

  2. Intuitive user interface – To simplify onboarding without extensive training, Android’s familiar interface provides a user-friendly platform on a touchscreen device, mimicking the ease of a consumer-grade smartphone on an enterprise-ready device.

  3. Open application ecosystem – Unlike other competing operating systems, Android’s OS accommodates new applications, providing scalability to integrate future changes and needs without requiring extensive backend changes and app rewriting. Moreover, Android is able to house Zebra’s Mobility DNA applications for greater device functionality and dependable WiFi connectivity.

  4. Dependable data security – Count on reliable security parameters such as two-factor authentication, recurring security patches, and government-grade encryption to keep your data safe from cyberthreats.

  5. Access to MMS services – Reduce maintenance expenses with mobile managed services that enhance device tracking and accuracy, so your field teams can remain accessible wherever they go.

Moreover, ISG makes optimization seamless and more cost-effective with the GO Zebra Trade-In Program. Simply trade legacy devices from any manufacturer before December 31st, 2021 and get up to $100 per device towards you upgraded touch computer.

Modernizing your digital fleet doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Contact us at 800-566-3310 or info@isgtechnologies.com to see how you can start equipping your field teams with a mobility solution designed for field service.
